Overview
This Privacy Policy covers two apps published by DiNerd Apps:
Jamaica Food AIiPhone โ an AI-powered Jamaican food scanner, calorie tracker, recipe browser, and community feed.
Jamaica Food RecipesApple TV โ a free recipe browser and Jamaican food history guide designed for the big screen.
By using either app, you agree to the practices described in this policy. Where data practices differ between the two apps, we note it clearly below.
Information We Collect
Jamaica Food AI iPhone
Camera & Photo LibraryWhen you scan a dish, we access your camera or photo library to capture or select an image. These images are processed for food recognition and are not stored permanently on our servers without your consent.
Account InformationIf you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple-assigned user ID, your display name (if provided), and optionally your email address (which may be relayed or hidden by Apple). We use this to create and maintain your account.
Nutritional & Scan DataWe store your scan history, calorie logs, and meal entries associated with your account so you can track your progress over time.
Apple Health (Optional)If you enable Apple Health integration, we write nutrition data (calories, macros) to the Health app on your device. We may also read active energy data to adjust your daily calorie budget. This data stays on your device and is governed by Apple's HealthKit policies.
Usage & AnalyticsWe collect anonymized usage data (features used, session duration, crash reports) to improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.
Jamaica Food Recipes Apple TV
The Apple TV app collects minimal data. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, no camera access, no health data, and no advertising.
Local FavoritesYour favorite recipes are stored locally on your Apple TV using UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.
Pexels Image RequestsThe app requests food photos from the Pexels API using dish names as search queries. No personal data, device identifiers, or account information is sent to Pexels.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties from either app.
Third-Party Services
Jamaica Food AI iPhone
Firebase (Google)We use Firebase for authentication, cloud data storage, and analytics. Firebase is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Google AdMobFree users see banner advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers and interest data to show relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized ads in your iOS Settings under Privacy & Security.
Both Apps
PexelsBoth apps use the Pexels API to display food photography. Image requests include the dish name as a search query. No personal data is sent to Pexels.
The Apple TV app does not use Firebase, AdMob, or any analytics services. Pexels is the only external service it connects to.
Data Retention & Deletion
Jamaica Food AI iPhone
Your account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account through the app, your data enters a 7-day grace period during which you can recover it by signing back in. After 7 days, all associated data is permanently deleted.
You may request a copy of your data by using the "Export My Data" option in Settings.
Jamaica Food Recipes Apple TV
All data is stored locally on your Apple TV. To remove your favorites, you can clear them within the app or delete the app entirely. No server-side data exists to delete.
Children's Privacy
Neither app is directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The Apple TV app collects no personal information from any user. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child through the iPhone app, please contact us immediately.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights regarding the iPhone app, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
The Apple TV app stores no personal data on our servers, so there is no server-side data to request or delete.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the effective date above. Continued use of either app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
