Strain Compare ("we," "our," or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.

1. Information We Collect

Information collected automatically:

Analytics Data: We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data such as app opens, screen views, feature usage (e.g., strain comparisons), session duration, and general device information (device model, OS version, language, region).
Performance Data: Firebase Performance Monitoring collects data about app startup times, network request latency, and general performance metrics to help us improve the app experience.
Advertising Data: Google AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the Advertising Identifier), IP address, and general interaction data to serve relevant advertisements. AdMob may use cookies or similar technologies for ad personalization.

Information we do NOT collect:

Your name, email address, or any personal contact information
Account credentials or passwords
Location data (GPS or precise location)
Health or medical information
Payment information (subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple)

2. On-Device AI Processing

Strain Compare uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models to provide intelligent strain recommendations and comparisons. All AI processing happens entirely on your device. No strain preferences, mood selections, or comparison data is sent to external servers.

Your interactions with the AI-powered features — including mood-based matching and strain comparisons — remain private and are never transmitted off your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

The information collected is used to:

Improve app performance and stability
Understand how features are used to guide future development
Display advertisements through Google AdMob (free tier users)
Monitor and resolve technical issues

4. Third-Party Services

We integrate the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Apple (StoreKit): Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple. Apple Privacy Policy

5. Advertising

Strain Compare displays advertisements through Google AdMob for users on the free tier. AdMob may use your device's Advertising Identifier and other data to serve personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device settings:

Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising and disable Personalized Ads

Subscribers on the Pro plan do not see advertisements.

6. Subscriptions

Strain Compare offers an optional Pro subscription that unlocks additional features. All subscription transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment details, credit card number, or Apple ID credentials.

7. Data Retention

Analytics and performance data collected through Firebase is retained in accordance with Google's data retention policies. We do not store any personal data on our own servers. Strain preferences and comparison history remain on your device and can be removed at any time by deleting the app.

8. Children's Privacy

Strain Compare is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 21. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under 21, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information collected through our third-party services. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Request access to your data
Request deletion of your data
Opt out of personalized advertising
Withdraw consent for data collection
