The short version
Groceryy List has no accounts, no sign-up, and no server. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Your grocery lists travel inside your iMessage conversations and are cached only on your own device.
What data the app handles
To work, the app handles the following information — entirely on your device and inside your iMessage conversation:
- List content. Item names, quantities, and their checked-off status are encoded into the iMessage bubble that you choose to send. This content is delivered by Apple's iMessage service under Apple's own encryption and never passes through any server of ours.
- Optional display name. You may choose to set a display name (for example, "Kayla") so others in the chat can see who added each item. This name is stored inside the shared list itself. Setting it is optional and can be skipped.
- Anonymous participant identifiers. Apple provides iMessage apps with random, per-conversation identifiers for participants. The app cannot see your phone number, Apple ID, contacts, or real name.
- Local cache. A copy of each list is saved on your device so the list opens instantly and edits merge correctly. This cache never leaves your device and is deleted when you delete the app.
What we do not do
- No collection of personal information of any kind
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs
- No accounts, logins, or profiles
- No servers or databases operated by us
- No access to your contacts, phone number, or message history
- No sale or sharing of data with third parties
Messages you send
When you send a list update, it becomes part of your iMessage conversation, just like any other message. Delivery, storage, and encryption of messages are handled by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy. Anyone in the conversation can view and edit the shared list.
Children's privacy
Groceryy List does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. The app contains no third-party content, ads, or external links within the app experience itself.
Changes to this policy
If the app's behavior ever changes in a way that affects your privacy — for example, if a future version adds optional features that use the network — this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the "Last updated" date above will change.
