These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Jamaica Patois Translator iMessage app ("the app"). By using the app, you agree to these Terms. The app is currently in development and not yet publicly released; these Terms apply to development, beta (e.g. TestFlight), and any future released versions.

1. What the app does

The app translates text between English and Jamaican Patois using AI (Google's Gemini models) and can suggest short replies. It runs as an extension inside Apple's Messages app. You choose what text to translate; the app cannot read your conversations.

2. AI-generated content

Translations and suggested replies are generated by an AI model. They may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your context. You are responsible for reviewing any translation before you send it. The app is provided for casual, everyday communication — do not rely on it for legal, medical, financial, or other professional translation needs.

3. Acceptable use

• Don't use the app for anything unlawful, harmful, or abusive.
• Don't attempt to misuse, reverse engineer, or disrupt the app or the AI services behind it.
• You are responsible for the content you submit for translation and for the messages you send.

4. Third-party services

The app uses Google's Gemini API to generate translations. Your use of the app is also subject to Google's applicable terms, including the Gemini API Terms of Service. Availability of translations depends on that service; outages, rate limits, or changes on Google's side may affect the app.

5. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of translations, or uninterrupted availability.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DiNerd Apps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app, including any consequences of sending AI-generated translations or replies.

7. Changes to the app or these Terms

The app is under active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time without notice. We may update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

8. Apple

The app is distributed through Apple platforms. These Terms are between you and DiNerd Apps, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to it.
